Congratulations to the Forensics Team as they had a highly successful first meet on Saturday. A medal was earned by Arjun Chopra and blue ribbons were earned by Madelyn Delfield, Aiza Khan, Grace Schmechel, Shay Nelson, Paige Holke, Paige Johnson and Lily Paschke.
Congratulations to the Alpine Ski Team as they had a successful night of skiing last week Wednesday. The Varsity Girls took 1st place and Varsity Boys took 2nd place. JV Boys placed 1st and JV Girls placed 3rd. They also raced Slalom against Brookfield East, Kettle Moraine, Nicolet and Waukesha at Little Switzerland. Top Finishers included: Varsity Girls: Allison Wink 10th. Varsity Boys: Nick Peterson 1st, Austin Macintyre 7th, William Cascio 9th. JV Boys: Jackson Butzke 1st.
Congratulations to the Warchix Pom and Dance Team on qualifying for state this past weekend at the WACPC Eastern Regional Dance Competition! The team placed 2nd in D2 Pom and were Regional Champions for D1 Jazz! In addition, Sierra Bray was an All State Finalist for her solo. Congratulations ladies and good luck at State this weekend in La Crosse!
The boys' basketball team hosted a tournament this past weekend and it was a huge success! Well done to all and good luck with the remainder of your season!
Two Saturday's ago the girls' basketball team played in the Popes Invitational at Pius against Oak Creek and won 76-60. Emilie Wizner led the team in scoring with 27 points, while KK Arnold had 26 points. On Tuesday the Warhawks defeated Brookfield East 65-52 to pull into a 1st place tie in the conference. KK Arnold led the way with 29 points. Lucy Leininger contributed 14 points and 7 blocked shots, while Rachel Murphy tallied 11 points in the win.
The Bears had only one game last week, beating the Fox Cities Stars 9-2. Getting into the action was Jacob Rienke with a goal and an assist, Stone Daczka had an assist and Talon Vorpahl had 2 assists. One of his assists was to his younger brother Jaxson Vorpahl. Jaxson was playing in his first full varsity game as a freshman and scored his first career varsity goal. The team traveled to Onalaska for two games over the weekend. Next week is the conference tournament where the team hopes to win another conference championship. Good luck!
Two weekends ago the boys Swim Team competed in the Menomonee Falls Invitational. Charlie Ragland (Sr) placed 5th in the 200 freestyle and 4th in the 100 freestyle. Jayden Knight (Fr) dropped time in his 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Anish Kusukuntla (Sr) got a personal best in the 50 free.
Last Thursday night, Germantown hosted the JV Conference Championship meet. The pool was packed with spectators and athletes. Ryan Schraufnagel (So) swam a personal best in both the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle. Andre Cato (Fr) dropped an amazing 8 seconds in his 50 freestyle. Matthew Wanta (Sr) swam a personal best in both his 50 freestyle and his 100 breast stroke. Nolan Prahl dropped 4 seconds in his 100 freestyle. Ruben Mendes (So) accomplished his personal best in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Brett Hanesgen was able to drop time in his 50 backstroke. Congratulations on a great season to the JV team.
Last Friday, Cole Konczal competed in the Varsity Diving meet and Saturday the varsity swimmers competed in the swimming portion of the Conference Championship. The boys' 200 free relay made it to the podium with an 8th place finish. Well done to all!
