Alpine Ski Team Updates – It’s another first place finish for Varsity boys! Varsity Girls earned first place too! JV Girls Red 3rd place, JV Girls Black 5th place and JV Boys 4th place. The MSG Ski team raced Slalom against Badger, DSHA, Marquette and Oconomowoc at Little Switzerland. The MSG Ski Team is off to a great season!

Varsity Girls
- Finished 2nd (to Mukwonago);
- The varsity team included Germantown freshmen Paige MacIntyre (finished #11 overall) & Allie Wink (#16).
Varsity Boys -
- Finished 1st;
- The varsity team included Germantown junior Nick Peterson (finished first overall), sophomore Will Cascio (#8), and seniors Luke Waldhuetter (#11) & Austin MacIntyre (finished 4th overall in his first run);
- Nick Peterson's first-place finish qualifies for State as an individual racer.
JV Girls -
- Finished 1st.
JV Boys -
- Finished 1st;
- Freshman Jackson Butzke finished first overall.
The first high school ski race of the season took place Thursday, January 6 at Holy Hill and the MSG Ski Team came home with lots of medals! They raced Giant Slalom against Cedarburg, Mukwonago and University School. Varsity Girls took 2nd, Varsity Boys, JV Girls and JV Boys all took 1st place. Top Finishers: Nick Peterson 1st on Varsity and Jackson Butzke 1st on JV. Great start to the season!
Last weekend our DECA team competed at the DECA District Competition. Congratulations to all of the members who competed and represented the team and school in such a positive way.
Students receive an award for finishing in 1st-4th place overall, and are also recognized for being a top performer on their written test or for their performance in one or both of their role plays.

Last Friday was a full afternoon. Tri-M hosted College 101, an event that brings recent GHS alumni back to share their college experience, how they prepared, and things they would have done differently. There were great questions from current students and the alumni were excited to share their thoughts.
It was also the return of the World’s Largest Pep Band. In addition to the regular members of the group, alumni, siblings, KMS students, and more joined for the fun. Members of the band were came from KMS 6th grade to GHS Class of 2016. It was great seeing all the new and returning members.
Congratulations to the Powerlifting team who competed in the Elkhorn Regional Meet this past Saturday. The team did extremely well, hitting numerous personal bests and qualifying 6 lifters for the State Championships in March. Those lifters included: Abbey Kelley, Avery Anderson, Avery Dunlap, Bella Gelhaar, Jacob Pemberton, and Brady Flasch. A special congratulations to Avery Dunlap and Brady Flasch who were awarded Best Lifter for their divisions.
Congratulations to the Warchix Pom and Dance Team and their placement at the Oshkosh West Wildcat Invite this past weekend. The team took home 3 - 1st place finishes in Pom, Kick, and Jazz. In addition, Katie Van Fossen placed 3rd in the 9/10 grade solos and Claire Park placed 1st in the 11/12 grade solos. Lily Singers and Claire Park placed 2nd with their duet while Jamie Pagel and Katie VanFossen placed 1st. Way to go ladies!!
Last Friday the girls basketball team defeated Hamilton 70-39. KK Arnold finished with 28 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Emilie Wizner had 16 points and 6 rebounds, while Lucy Leininger had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. On Tuesday the Warhawks visited Brookfield Central and beat the Lancers 71-45. KK Arnold set a new school record by getting 11 steals to go with her 27 points and 7 assists. Emilie Wizner contributed 20 points and Lucy Leininger had 12 points and 4 blocks. Well done!
The Warhawks dropped 2 games this past week to GMC foes.
On Friday, January 7th they traveled to Sussex Hamilton and were leading at halftime before ultimately losing 71-57. Hunter Gosz had 17 points and 7 rebounds and Will Van Fossen contributed with 13 points.
The Warhawks hosted Brookfield Central on Tuesday and were down 17 points at halftime. The boys rallied to get within 4 points with about 4 minutes left but ran out of gas and ended up losing. Will Van Fossen was one rebound away from a double double with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Hunter Gosz had 17 points and Ryan Ferguson had 14 points off of the bench.
The Warhawks travel to West Allis Hale tonight at 7:00 pm and Brookfield Central for the Luke Homan Showcase on Saturday at 5:30 pm to take on Burlington.
Germantown earned a hard fought victory, 41-26, over Brookfield East, in a battle of the last two undefeated teams in the Greater Metro Conference. Picking up wins for the Warhawks were Owen Becker (Maj. Dec.), Ryan Lesnick (SV-1), Riese Thornberry (Fall), Talan Schutte (Fall), Kenny Roberts (Fall), Ethan Riddle (Maj. Dec.), Jacob Momper (Fall), Alex Pluta (Dec.) and Jackson Kirsch (Dec.) The Warhawks finish up their dual portion of the season next week at home against Brookfield Central and look to close out the first undefeated dual season since 2016!
The Bears Hockey Team had only one game this week. Last Friday they traveled to play KMMO. The Bears had a 2-0 lead early in the second period but KMMO battled back and tied it up. At just about the 10:00 mark of the third period the Bears pulled ahead and held onto the lead, winning the game 3-2. The team is back in action tonight at home against Marquette at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday they have conference games. They travel to Cedarburg on Tuesday, game starts at 7:10 p.m. On Thursday Homestead travels to West Bend for the Bears final home game at 6:00 p.m.
