For home and away sporting/co-curricular events, it is important to remember that you are representing your school and community. Good sportsmanship is expected. Please cheer positively for Germantown and not against the opposing team, coaches or officials. Profane, racial, sexist or ethnic comments or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. Your help is appreciated.

On Friday, September 24, the KMS 6th Grade Band joined the Wall of Sound for a combined performance. The group hoped to do this at halftime, but the weather did not cooperate. The event was moved to the PAC. The Wall of Sound wears bandanas at the football games. The colors correspond to the students grade. White is a freshman. Blue is a sophomore. Yellow is juniors. Black are seniors. It was shocking to realize that when the 6th graders are freshmen, the current freshmen will be seniors. It was a great night of music making. Thank you to Jon Fox and Kelsey Shook at KMS for making it happen.
Congratulations to the Wall of Sound for earning third place out of 8 bands at Marchfest at Waukesha South with a score of 72.250. The Brass and Color Guard section leaders are Matthew Wanta, Michael Wheeldon, Dani Martinez, Ross Gaskill, Vali Martinez, Logan Breitzmann, Owen Addison, Jade Kanneberg, Sarah Guilfoyle, and Amber Chang.
Gavin Sadowski, finishing with a new personal best of 16:35, led Germantown’s Varsity boys in their 3rd place finish at the Len Nikolai Invitational on Saturday followed by Dillon Walker (17:14), Cooper Feltz (17:43), Ross Gaskill (17:45), Kobe Chapman (17:55), Jack Wanezek (18:03), and Eric Olson (18:43).
Germantown’s Junior Varsity boys had an excellent 2nd place finish in the invitational, led by Niko Ciardo (18:44), Owen Oertel (18:53), Ryan Liberatore (19:07), Matthew Wanta (19:18) and Cody Rafn (19:29).
Athletes achieving new personal bests in the 5K last Saturday include Tyler Oertel, Andrew Reineck, Brayden Ebli, Mrudul Viradia, Ryan Schraufnagel, Jack Gozdowiak, Emerson Feltz, Tyler Seils, Oran Voigt, Vance Burnham, James Goetter, Kyle Privat, Carter Berrie, Anish Kusukuntla, Gabriel Spude, Cody Rafn and Gavin Sadowski.

In their first visit to Manitowoc’s Len Nikolai Cross Country Invitational the Germantown girls placed 5th in the 19 school race. Leading the way for Germantown were senior captains and medal winners Khushi Tanna (20:01- 11th) and Lauren Jex (20:38- 19th); both are closing in on personal best times. They were followed by Lizzy Liker (39th, season best performance), Claire Reedy (40th), Alyssa Ferguson (72nd), Keira Lorbecki (73rd, personal best time), Izzy Mryzglod (104th), and Angela Zheng (105th). Last year’s Division 2 state champion Kaukauna won the meet with 47 pts, GMC conference foe Wauwatosa East was second (108 pts), Green Bay Preble was 3rd (115 pts), New Berlin Eisenhower was 4th (115) and Germantown scored 163 points to place 5th.
In the JV race, Kate Allen placed 9th as a result of the strong and smart race that she ran, while teammates Grace Pedersen, Lizzie Gscheidmeier, and Joy Shill had personal best times; Mina Ryan and Alissa Lorbecki had season best performances. The last 1K was a real test of character for the athletes; the hills were plentiful, with a steep and challenging rise just prior to 400meters before the finish. Great job to all!

Hats off to the Germantown Girls' Golf Team as they advanced two student-athletes to Sectionals! Em Foran and Gabi Cox will play at Washington County Golf Course on Monday. The team wrapped up its season on Thursday at Mee-Kwon Golf Course. This season included many personal bests and a handful of new team records. Two four year varsity players, Gabi Cox and Lauryn Boerschig, have helped to set new standards for commitment and leadership. Their examples will have a lasting effect. Other seniors include Gretchen McNeal, Emilie Wizner, Hally Bowles, Raquelle Davis and Delany Becker. Thank you seniors.
All levels of the GTown Boys' Soccer Team each had one game this week. The JV and Varsity Team played Tosa West, while the JV2 team played Brookfield Central. The JV team won their game 2-1 with a last minute goal from Max Gereau. The Varsity team took a tough, but hard fought loss to Tosa West. It was Senior Night and the stands were full of supporters. All the seniors got a special gift for 4 years of dedication to the program. Joey Humphriss received a retired game ball with his career stats on it during an emotional halftime for the program. He was able to take the field one last time, as a team captain and was rewarded a round of applause as he left the field shortly after kickoff. Tosa went up 2-0 after a trick corner kick was misplayed by our defense. Gtown made it 2-1 with a last minute goal, but it wasn't enough. JV2 rolled on Wednesday with a 12-2 mercy rule victory over Brookfield Central. Keep up the good work!
The Germantown Girls' Swim and Dive Team had another fantastic week of competition. Last Saturday, the Varsity competed at the Evanston Wildkit Invitation in Evanston, IL. They faced some very fast IL teams. The team finished second. Congratulations to the 200 medley relay team of Ali Beay, Hanna DeGrace, Julia Saxman and Sabina Mrzyglod who set the meet record and took first place. Another congratulations to Sabina Mrgyold who broke the school record in the 200 IM and also set the meet record and took first place and to Ali Beay who also set a meet record in the 100 back and took first.
Other first place finishers included Ali Beay in the 50 free, Sabina Mrzyglod in the 100 fly, Hanna DeGrace in the 100 breast and the 400 free relay team consisting of Ali Beay, Izzy Barger, Abby Bruss and Sabina Mrzyglod.
Last night the team faced Brookfield Central in another conference dual meet. Both the JV and Varsity team won, bringing their conference dual record to 4-0.

Huge shoutout to Sammy Neinas for taking 2nd at the Tennis conference this week. She came in at the #2 seed and proved her spot! The entire girls team played their hearts out!!! Congrats and good luck Monday at Sub Sectionals!

The Germantown Girls' Volleyball Team is coming off a conference win at Tosa West on Tuesday placing them tied for first in the GMC at 5-0. All three levels won their respective matches and are also leading the conference thus far.
Varsity is 23-5 and ranked 6th in the State. Please plan on coming next Tuesday to the team's home match versus DSHA. They are also undefeated in the conference and ranked 3rd in the state. The team could use your support!!! It is a 7pm start.
The team also had the pleasure as a program to visit alum Tatum Catalano and the UW-Milwaukee Panthers as they took on Northern Kentucky. It was a fun match with the Panthers taking the victory. The team is excited to support their forever Warhawk.
