Last Saturday, the Germantown Forensics team competed in the Greater Metro Conference tournament at Sussex-Hamilton. The team did very well! Congratulations to James Buchta for 1st in Moments in History, Emmalynn Keane for 1st in Prose, Rory Bishop and Drew Venne for 1st in Playacting, Kolton Ceman for 1st in Solo Humorous Acting, Meghan DeChant for 1st in Informative, Cassie Zarder for 2nd in Storytelling, Paige Johnson for 2nd in Oratory, and Arush Chopra for 3rd in Radio. Additionally, last Monday the team travelled to Random Lake to compete in the Subdistrict tournament. Congratulations to 16 team members for qualifying for District!
The Bears Hockey team started playoffs this week. The first round was against Manitowoc and the Bears came out with a 9-0 victory. Reid Newkirk had 3 goals to help the team out, Trevor Newkirk and Griffin Stein both had an assist. On Thursday the team played De Pere who beat them 6-4 earlier in the season. The team went down early in the first period with the period ending 1-0. In the 2nd period the team battled back and scored a goal assisted by Griffin Stein in the first couple minutes to make the game 1-1. De Pere scored a couple minutes later and the Bears scored a power play goal by Griffin Stein to tie it up 2-2 at the end of 2 periods. The third period brough the Bears their first lead of the night with Griffin Stein scoring a power play goal with about 7 minutes left in the game. De Pere answered with a goal a few minutes later bringing the game to overtime. With just over 2 minutes left in overtime the Bears scored, assisted by Reid and Trevor Newkirk to win the game 4-3.
This is the furthest the Bears program has gone in the playoffs in program history. Thanks to all of the students that showed up to support the team. There were close to 100 students from the co-op schools at the games. The Bears play Tuesday against Neenah or Ashwaubenon depending on the outcome of tonight's game. Good luck!
The Menomonee Falls/Germantown gymnasts had a great showing at the Mukwonago Invitation last weekend. The team had a new season best with a team score of 133.50. Since the beginning of the season, the team has improved their score by almost 8 points! Some highlights from last weekend's meet include: Emersyn Coulter showing a season best as well as a high school personal best of 8.8 on the balance beam. Emersyn also scored another personal best, scoring an 8.075 on the uneven bars. Rylie Wille also had a great meet, helping the team on vault, beam and floor! Anna Tchesnokova scored a personal best on vault this season with an 8.5 as well as took 3rd place in the combined all around division. Best of luck to the gymnasts as they finish their regular season by hosting conference tonight at Menomonee Falls High School.
Lakeshore Lightning defeated Arrowhead 3-0 Thursday night in Sectionals to win its first ever Playoff win in the program's 12 year history. This win avenged a 2-0 loss to the same Arrowhead team just 2 weeks earlier. Lakeshore has now also set its own program record for most wins in a season running its record to 16-8-1. Next up is Bay Area ranked #1 in the State. Good luck!
Congratulations to all GHS Boys Swimmers who competed at the Sectional meet this past weekend at Waukesha South High School! There were many personal best times and the team had a 10th place team finish overall!
Helping the team individually were Connor Warmke in the 50 Free and 100 Breastroke, placing 15th and 9th respectively. Daniel Xu also placed in the 100 Breast at 16th overall!
All three relays placed in the meet! Finishing in 12th overall was the 400 Freestyle Relay of Jayden Knight, Tyler Kirsch, Maddox Prahl, and Isaiah Prahl! The 200 Medley Relay team of Knight, Warmke, Gabe Garves, and Xu placed 9th together dropping a little over four seconds from their previous season best! High score for the day came with a podium appearance from the 200 Freestyle Relay team Warmke, Garves, Xu, and Knight finishing in 8th!
Incredible meet from the GHS Boys Swimming Sectional team! The team ended the year on a high note! Good luck to Connor Warmke and Jayden Knight as they prepare for life beyond High School! Much to look forward to for the remaining GHS Swimmers heading into next year!
Last Friday the girls' basketball team defeated Brookfield Central 69-40. Danica Gosz had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the win. Maddie Stocks lit it up by hitting 5 3-pointers for her 15 points. Jaycee Mani had 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, while Emma Wolf contributed 5 assists and 4 steals. Madeline Jakusz pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds.
The Warhawks celebrated Senior Night on Tuesday with a 68-40 win over Hamilton. All 8 seniors scored, led by Danica Gosz (16 points), Madeline Jakusz (12 points) and Jaycee Mani (10 points). Madelyn Andrus pulled down 7 rebounds on the night.
The girls take on co-conference leader Brookfield East tonight and then travel to Bay Port to open the playoffs next Friday.

This past Sunday and Monday, the boys' and girls' MSG Ski teams faced off at the WIARA State Ski Competition at Mt. La Crosse in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G races—and they delivered some incredible performances!
The boys team, with Jackson and Grayson Butzke leading the charge, finished strong in 14th place out of 21 teams. Jackson wrapped up his amazing high school career by finishing 41st out of 158 racers, while Grayson pushed hard and finished 44th, helping the team finish on a high note!
The girls' Varsity team crushed it in both the Slalom and Giant Slalom races on Sunday, taking home victories in each and finishing second overall to Arrowhead! This marks the highest finish the girls team has ever had at State! A huge shoutout to Paige MacIntyre, who had an unbelievable weekend, finishing 10th overall out of 150 racers. Paige’s performance earned her an invitation to the prestigious Western Nationals in Wyoming!
What a weekend for MSG Ski—let’s give them a round of applause for their hard work and dedication!
Kaitlyn Scott raced at State this weekend finishing 17th in Boardercross, 13th in Giant Slalom, 18th in Slalom, and 13th overall. The girls team took 5th place overall and the boys team took 1st place overall. Well done to all!
