Wall of FameThe Germantown High School Athletic Department will honor the following former stand-out student-athletes at this year's Friday, October 4 Wall of Fame induction ceremony!

Karen Krueger- 74', Gary McCardle- 74', Chad Meier- 90', Aaron Smith- 95' and Pattie Galle- 97'

There will be a presentation in the Performing Arts Center starting at 5:45 and they will be honored at halftime of the varsity football game as well. Please stop on by and celebrate these five inductees! Congratulations to all nominees!

Celebrating WarhawksWe will also be honoring Germantown's annual Friend of GHS Athletics this Friday at 5:45pm in the PAC as well as at halftime of the Homecoming football game. This year's recipient is longtime Athletic Trainer Mr. Jamie Pecha!

Finally, we will be honoring former Germantown student Becca Murray for her recent success at the Paralympics where she eared a Silver Medal as part of Team USA! She will also be honored at 5:45 in the PAC as well as at halftime of the football game Friday night!

FootballThis past Saturday three senior members from Germantown Football’s Team 67 (Cooper Catalano, Drew Greenmeier and Doug Weske) were invited, with Coach Davis and his son, to be on The Varsity Blitz High School Sports Radio Show hosted by Mike McGivern on The Big 920.  All three did an outstanding job representing the GTown Football Family, Germantown High School and the Germantown Community as a whole.  Drew Greenmeier was also selected as the Pick ‘n Save Student Athlete of the week, in which he received an award this past Wednesday Night, here in Germantown, at our local Pick ‘n Save Store.  You can use the THIS LINK to listen to the episode from 9/28/24.

BCCThe Germantown Boys' Cross Country Team competed at the 86th Annual Midwest Invite in Janesville, WI on Saturday, September 28th.  This is the largest meet of the season for the team with some of the best competition.  After a dedicated two week training block the student-athletes were ready to put their legs to the test on a fast course with warmer than usual temperatures.  The hard work paid off with 14 all-time personal records (PRs) and numerous season bests for our Warhawks.

In the Varsity race the team finished 21st out 52 teams.  Senior Jack Wanezek continued his impressive season earning a medal for his 24th place finish (out of 358 runners) and running a 16:11.4 to crack the Germantown Boys' Cross Country All-Time Top 10 list.  Jack is now number 8 on the All-Time list and he improved his lifetime PR by 23 seconds!  Matt Momper, Jack Flynn, Vander Hausmann, and James Goetter rounded out the scoring five in the Varsity race and all achieved PRs.

In the JV Blue Race senior Brayden Ebli led the way as the team finished 17th out of 29 teams.  Ethan Galle, Ben Armstrong, Zachary Prescott, Andrew Reineck, Blake Yegge, and Justin Sossaman all recorded PRs in the JV Blue Race.

The JV White Race started at noon under warm conditions and sophomore Jimmy Zheng led the effort as the team finished 28th out of 39 teams.  Jimmy along with Chase Schellinger and Logan Bengtson all had PRs in the race.  Big shout-out to Logan Bengtson who had a 3 minute and 20 second PR!

Next up for the team is the Arrowhead Invitational on Saturday, October 5th.

Midwest Invitational – September 28th, 2024: Janesville was the location for the largest HS meet in the Midwest, with more than 50 schools represented, and 300-400 runners in each race!  This was the team's first meet of the season running on a golf course, and despite the hilly terrain, the girls continued to post new personal records.  New PRs were run by Kate Ittner, Kierta Siegert, Savannah Wendorf, Ava Borchardt, Anne Drinan, Hailey Sadowski, Ella Pedersen, Madison Burns, Jordan Knudson, Angela Bengston, Allison Theys, Sarah Plambeck, Natalie Menzel, Alana Olstad, Brooke Bengston, and Lizzie Blodgett. Samyiah Fox, Keira Lorbecki, Ella Armstrong, Clare Kanters, Dacoda Anderson, Brooklyn Chesir, and Cassie Zarder had new SBs (season bests). Full Results

The team's next meet is the Arrowhead Invite this Saturday, October 5th.   While not as big as their last meet, there will be stiff competition, against some of the strongest teams in conference and sectionals!

GCCGCCGCCGCCGirls GolfGermantown Girls' Golf finished 6 at The Wisconsin Club for Regionals this past Tuesday. Despite the windy weather, Allie Wink qualified with a 91 to advance to the Sectional meet next Tuesday at Wanaki. Congratulations to Mya Borchard, Megan Grater, Lydia Schultz and Rylie Wille for competing in the last match of the season finishing with a great overall team score of 403, losing to the Falls by 1 stroke. BSoccerBoys' soccer traveled to play Brookfield Central on Tuesday.  After dominating possession and the amount of shots, Germantown had no goals at halftime of a 0-0 first half.  A few minutes into the second half, Germantown had a freekick just outside the box on the endline.  The freekick was taken by Aaron Dethloff.  He put a great ball into the box and Payton Laabs finished it with a header into the back of the net to go up 1-0 where it stayed for the rest of the game, securing the team's first conference win of the season!

Girls SwimLast night the Germantown Girls' Swim and Dive Team competed against Brookfield East.  Both the JV and Varsity teams battled hard despite injuries and illnesses, but fell short.

Despite the loss, the girls brought lots of energy to celebrate the team's Seniors.  Being Senior Night, the team recognized their 5 seniors who have been a part of the team for all four years: Paige Johnson, Fynn Langley, Julia Saxman, Simone Schulz and Emma Wolf. The team and Coach Bruss thanks them for all their contributions and leadership they have brought to the team and wishes them the best of luck with the rest of the season and what they have in store after this year.

Next week, the team has a bye week and then will compete in its last dual meet of the regular season on Thursday, October 14 at Wauwatosa East.  

GSwim/Dive Girls TennisCongratulations to the Girls' Tennis T as they went 21 - 0 at the Sheboygan Invitational this past Saturday. The team broke the school's record for most dual wins in a season with 16 in total and the team broke the school's record for most conference match wins in a season with 32 (so far)! Well done, ladies! Additionally, Claudia Schilder and Addi Braidigan tied their own school record for most wins in a season at #1 doubles with 20 (so far) and Claudia Schilder broke the school record for most career wins in doubles with 60 (so far)! Well done!!!

BVBThe Boys’ Volleyball Teams played Brookfield Central this week. Varsity won in 3 sets and JV went 2-1. Congratulations on the wins! JV2 had a strong battle in the third set, and ultimately Brookfield won. The boys play next week at Brookfield East- good luck!

BVBGVBThe Girls' Varsity Volleyball team went 5-0 to win the Port Washington Invitational this past weekend! Maddie Jakusz was pivotal at the Right Side and Paityn Johnson led the team in assists. The team heads to Tosa East this week and Cedarburg Saturday for a quad. Good luck!

GVBWall of SoundThe Wall of Sound traveled Waukesha South for Marchfest last weekend. The band earned first place in AAA division. They also won the Visual Caption Award for the best visual score in both AAA and AAAA. The judges commented on the group for consistent high quality in their entire performance.

Congratulations to the 6th Grade band for their first performance. They joined forces with the Wall of Sound for the football game on Friday. It is exciting to see over 250 of the district's youngest and oldest musicians.
