The Girls' Varsity Volleyball program secured their first conference win vs rival Wauwatosa West. The Trojans came out strong winning the first set but when set 2 started, the Trojans were stunned by the Hawks and were swept in the next three sets 25-16, 25-14, 25-15. Help from the crowd was present as it was Youth Night and many kids from the community came out to support the Warhawks!
Megan Leedle was the powerhouse at the net hitting a massive .588% and ten kills, 4 ace serves and 5 blocks. Megan made her presence known by putting the ball in every hole in their defense as well as blocking to shut down, or rather close the door, on the Trojan offense.
Paige Boettcher also had a strong performance with 16 kills and 10 digs. Setters Paityn Johnson and Tayler Gomolla pushed the tempo of the offense to get the Hawks going on offense.
The team heads to Port Washington this weekend for the Pirate Invite
The JV1 team won their match against Wauwatosa West in three straight sets. The JV2 team lost theirs 2-1 in a nailbiter. She was also a force from the end line serving to get the team back into the game when they were down by 5 points.
Girls' Volleyball Warhawk Athlete of the week: Megan Leedle for hitting .588, 5 blocks and 4 ace serves. She shut down the opposing offense and made critical plays to take Wauwatosa out of their game. Megan is a team captain and works for every point not only in matches, but practices as well. Her leadership is definitely having an impact on this squad as they continue to improve each week.
