The Germantown High School Athletic Department will honor the following former stand-out student-athletes at this year's Friday, October 4 Wall of Fame induction ceremony!
Pattie Galle, Karen Krueger, Gary McCardle, Chad Meier, and Aaron Smith
There will be a presentation in the Performing Arts Center starting at 5:45 and they will be honored at halftime of the varsity football game as well. Congratulations to all nominees!
We will also honor former Germantown student Becca Murray for her recent success at the Paralympics where she eared a Silver Medal as part of Team USA!
It was a busy weekend with the football game on Friday and Marching Band Madness on Saturday. The crowd and atmosphere at the game were fantastic. It was great to be performing in front of the home crowd again.
Marching Band Madness is Wall of Sound's home show. It includes a judged clinic in the afternoon and a performance show in the evening. Bands from Franklin, Greenfield, Cedarburg, Sussex, and Germantown all participated. Each band received feedback from judges on their shows, which prepared them for the rest of the season. The grand finale is a highlight for everyone. Over 600 band members on the field performed as one BIG group.
Many thanks to all of the parent volunteers and Warhawk Band Boosters for making it hall happen!
Good luck to the Wall of Sound this weekend as they travel to Franklin for their invitational.
Good luck tonight at Brookfield East!
The cross country teams raced at the DSHA Dasher Invite at Dretzka Park on Saturday, September 14th in hot and humid conditions. This course had not been used for a high school race in close to a decade and Dretzka Park was the site of the NCAA National XC Championships in 1985 where the UW Madison men took home a national title. GBCC faced multiple ranked teams at the Dasher Invite with the JV Boys finishing 6th in the team standings and the Varsity Boys finishing 7th.
In the Varsity Boys' race, senior Jack Wanezek went out in controlled fashion and moved up nicely in the final 2 miles passing runners to earn a medal with his 3rd place finish. Junior Matthew Momper followed in 27th place and then a pack that included seniors James Goetter (36th place), Emerson Feltz (40th place), and freshman Vander Hausmann (41st place) rounded out the scoring 5.
In the JV Boys race, junior Monroe Gaskill (13th place) battled through the final two miles to lead the team and earn a medal. Freshman Ben Armstrong (20th place) earned a PR and was the team’s 2nd runner. Junior Zachary Prescott (27th place), senior Andrew Reineck (37th place), and junior Hunter Erdman (43rd place) rounded out the scoring 5 for the JV Boys.
GBCC volunteered this past Tuesday at Kennedy Middle School helping out at the cross country meet. The team now has a focused two week training block before racing at the Midwest Invite in Janesville on September 28th.

Dasher Invite – September 14th, 2024: Warm, humid conditions moved back in for the Germantown Girl’s Cross Country team’s 3rd meet of the season, hosted by DSHA at Dretzka County Park. This was a new meet on a challenging course, and with the tough weather conditions, our 5K times were a bit slower than last week. Despite this, there were many positive take-aways, including the JV girl’s 3rd consecutive win!
Carley Lorbecki led the JV team with a 2nd place finish, with Ella Armstrong (3rd), Savannah Wendorf (8th), Sophie Lee (10th), and Emily Laitinen (11th) completing the team score of 34 for 1st place out of 9 teams. The team's 6th runner, Ava Borchardt, also medaled with a 15th place finish.
Medals winners in the varsity race were Kierta Siegert (5th), Kate Ittner (8th), and Samyiah Fox (11th), with Katy Morin and Adeline Timm completing the team score. The varsity finished 4th in the team competition, only 11 points out of 2nd place. FULL RESULTS
The girls' JV2 golf team wrapped up their season on Tuesday with a dual match against Brookfield Central. Angelina Tarantino and Autumn Passolt stood out, leading the team with the lowest score of the day. This season, the JV2 team not only honed their skills but also deepened their love for the game. They represented Germantown with pride at every venue, earning praise from opposing teams and coaches alike. Congratulations, girls, on an outstanding undefeated season—the future is bright for GGG!
The Germantown Girls' JV Golf Team faced off against Wauwatosa in a dual match on Tuesday at Currie Park Golf Course and emerged victorious! The team played exceptionally well, with standout performances from Ella Larson, Brynn Janczak, Ella Saltarikos, Caitlin Andree, Anna Ruedinger, and Kylie Schultz. Ella Larson led all golfers with an impressive score of 47. Great job, team!
Germantown Girls' Varsity spent the afternoon at Westmoor Country Club on Monday. Low score went to Allie Wink with a 45! The team finished with their lowest team score for the season and are looking forward to their annual senior scramble trip to Erin Hills.
Blackstone Creek Golf Course is and always has been an outstanding supporter of Germantown Girls' Golf. Their flexibility with the program, matches and team events has been appreciated. They accommodated the team no matter what they had going on at the course that day. To give back, the girls hand washed their brand new golf carts on Monday! They were able to have a little fun while giving back to a business that gives so much to the team. Great Job Girls and Thank you to Blackstone Creek!
Good luck to the boys' soccer team as they host West Bend East tomorrow at noon!
It has been a busy few weeks for the Girls' Swim and Dive Team. The team has been doing really well.
