Vander Hausmann set the tone for the day in the Freshman Boys race jumping out to the lead and battling back and forth with his competitor from Slinger. Vander ended up finishing second in race by 0.1 seconds. Ben Armstrong was the 2nd runner for the team in 18th place and was followed by a packed up group of runners - Anthony Nuchikat (39th); Blake Yegge (40th); and Justin Sossaman (41st) to round out the scoring. Senior Jack Wanezek put together a strong 3rd mile to move up from 17th place to 13th place and earn a medal. Jack will definitely be in the hunt in late October to qualify for the State Championship meet in Wisconsin Rapids. Sophomore Jack Flynn (29th) had a 45 second personal record (PR) with a great race. Junior Matthew Momper (37th) improved upon his season opener and seniors Emerson Feltz (56th) and James Goetter (57th) ran a brilliant race working together to push each other through to the finish and round out our scoring five.

Hale Invitational- September 6, 2024: The Germantown Girls' Cross Country team's 2nd meet of the season was held Friday at Greenfield Park in West Allis. After an extended period of hot, humid weather, conditions were much better for this race, and times were much faster than the first meet of the season. Overall, the team saw 19 PRs (personal records) and 14 SBs (seasonal bests). This was also a much larger meet, with 18 schools, and some of them rank among the best in the state.
There is a lot of great depth on the team, and the JV showed this by winning again. Leading the way were medal winners Sophie Lee (5th) and Carley Lorbecki (12th), with Ella Armstrong, Emily Laitinen, and Anne Drinan rounding out the team’s score. The Varsity team ran strong as well, with 5 PRs and 3 SBs for the 8 runners in that race. FULL RESULTS
