Congratulations to the 2023-24 Spring Intramural Volleyball Champions!
On Friday, May 10 the Varsity Reserve boys’ golf team traveled to West Bend Lakes for the Ray Engelking Invitational. The squad fired a 308 and brought home the hardware. Leading the way for the Warhawks and meet medalist was Preston Filter with 72, followed by Brendan Fredrickson 74, Ryan Angers 78 and Ryan Pampuch 84.
The Varsity continued conference play this week with the final mini meet of the season at Brown Deer Golf Club. The team won the meet setting a school record of 145! Leading the Warhawks were Charlie Larson, Cody Schmidt and Robbie Gaertner with 36 and Reid Newkirk’s 37 rounded out the scoring.
On Wednesday the team traveled to Morningstar for the 18-hole conference final. The Warhawks fell short of the goal to win conference but shot a solid 315 and finished 3rd. Leading the scoring was Cody Schmidt with 78 followed by 79’s from Charlie Larson, Reid Newkirk and Robbie Gaertner.
Cody Schmidt finished the Conference season 1st Team All-Conference and 3rd overall.

Preston Filter led the squad with a 73, Ryan Angers 78, Silas Fredricks 79, Travis Pampuch 81, Brendan Fredrickson 82, Solomon Lee 85.
On Saturday, May 11 the Boys’ Track and Field Team went to Wauwatosa West and competed in the JV Conference meet. A lot of Personal Records were reached and the boys left everything out on the track.
Top Performers are as follows:

Max Gahr- 4th in the 1600m Run (5:10.34)

On Saturday, May 11 the Junior Varsity Girls’ Track and Field Team competed at the Greater Metro Conference JV Outdoor Championships hosted by Wauwatosa West. The girls compiled 84.5 points to finish 3rd as a team. Along with a solid finish, 13 new personal records were set. Great finish to the season ladies!
Top 3 performances included:
Clare Kanters - 2nd (20.12) in the 100m High Hurdles and 2nd (55.24) in the 300m Hurdles
Anne Drinan - 3rd (6:15.14) in the 1600m Run.
Uma Goradia - 3rd (55.98) in the 300m Hurdles.
Elyse Steuerwald - 2nd (14:08.92) in the 3200m Run
Claire Reedy - 3rd (7-6) in the Pole Vault
Rachel Kohls - 1st (85-4) in the Discus Throw and 1st (29-4) in the Shot Put

Macie Daniel, Kaliyah Terrell, Rylie Olson, and Addison Braidigan - 2nd (50.62) in the 4x100m Relay
Piper Eby - 1st (119-10) in the Discus Throw and 3rd (35-4.5) in the Shot Put
Madeline Jakusz - 2nd (36-1) in the Shot Put.
The Varsity girls will head into the postseason as they compete for a chance to qualify for the State Meet. They will compete at Regionals on Monday 5/20 hosted by Nicolet. Top 4 in each event will move on to the Sectional Meet on Thursday 5/23 at West Bend East. Those that finish top 3 in each event will be qualifiers for the State Meet. Good luck next week, ladies!
The Varsity boys’ tennis team competed in the conference tournament this week. Overall, the team took 7th place. Individual highlights include Taylor Retlick taking third place at #4 singles, Adam Emerson/James Goetter taking fourth place at #2 doubles and Brett Haensgen/Cooper Meinecke taking fourth place at #3 doubles. The Varsity team will compete at Sub Sectionals on Tuesday at Nicolet. Good luck!
Last weekend the JV team had their Conference meet and took fifth place as a team! Way to go team! The softball team went 4-1 last week. The (finally) beat Menomonee Falls and then Brookfield Central to finish 14-2 in the GMC, good for 1st place! Overall, the finished the regular season 18-6 and will host either Homestead or Nicolet in the WIAA Regional final on May 23.
May 10: Germantown 7, Menomonee Falls 1
Germantown jumped on the Falls for 3 runs in the top of the 1st. With 1 out, senior CF Maddy Balsiger (1-3, BB, RBI, R) walked, junior SS Kayla Preiss (2-3, 3B, BB, 2 R, SB) singled, and junior 3B Julia Sina walked. After another out, sophomore DP Addy Johnson (1-3, 2 RBI, SB) hit a single to RF to drive in Balsiger and Preiss, and after the hit, executed a double steal to score Sina.
In the 2nd the Warhawks added another run, on a 2-out single to center by Balsiger that plated sophomore LF Ally Pentek (2-3, 2 R, SB).
Germantown tacked on 3 insurance runs in the top of the 7th on a junior RF Emmy Counter (1-3, 2B, BB, RBI, R, SB) double and a 2-run throwing error by Menomonee Falls.
Junior P Kylie Otto pitched a complete game (her 6th of the year), allowing 1 unearned run on 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4. The win raised her record to 5-4.
May 13: Germantown 12, Brookfield Central 0
Germantown scored 2 in the top of the 1st on RBI ground outs by junior SS Kayla Preiss (1-4, HR, 4 RBI, R) and junior 3B Julia Sina (2-4, RBI) and tacked on another in the 2nd on a bunt single by junior RF Emmy Coulter (2-2, BB, 2 RBI, R, 2 SB, SF).
The Warhawks added 2 more in the 4th - on a senior 1B Kenzie Thomas (2-3, 2 RBI, R) RBI single and senior CF Maddy Balsiger (2-3, 2B, BB, 2 RBI, 2 R, SB) RBI double - before breaking the game open with a 7-run 5th, the big blow coming on a 3-run homer by Preiss, her team-leading 5th HR of the season.
Freshmen C Kennedy Bennett (2-4), sophomore DP Addy Johnson (2-3, 2 R, SB) and sophomore LF Ally Pentek (2-3, R) also had multi-hit games for Germantown.
Junior P Kylie Otto (6-4) threw her 7th complete game and 2nd shutout of the season, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits and one walk while striking out 4.
May 14: Germantown 4, Oak Creek 2
Germantown jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. With 1 out, senior CF Maddy Balsiger (3-3, 2B, 2 R, 2 SB) doubled and following another out, junior 3B Julia Sina (1-2, BB, RBI, R, SB) walked and stole second. Then freshmen C Kennedy Bennett (1-3, 2 RBI) hit a clutch 2-run single.
After Oak Creek tied the game, Sina hit a 2-out RBI single to plate Balsiger to give the Warhawks a 3-2 lead. Germantown added an insurance run on a wild pitch in the 4th.
Sophomore 2B Alaina Williams (1-3) had the only other hit for the Warhawks.
Junior P Kylie Otto pitched the final 3 1/3 innings to gets the win, giving up no runs on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 2. Bennett also caught a runner trying to steal in the 5th and picked off a runner in the 7th.
May 15: Germantown 3, Hartford 2
The Warhawks scored 1 in the top of the 1st inning. Junior RF Emmy Coulter (2-4, 2 R, SB) singled, stole second, then scored all the way from second on a junior SS Kayla Preiss (3-3, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 SB) sacrifice bunt.
After Hartford took the lead in the bottom half, Germantown put together the winning rally on a Coulter single, senior CF Maddy Balsiger (1-4, 2B, RBI, R) RBI double, and Preiss RBI double.
Sophomore 2B Alaina Williams (2-3, SB) and senior 1B Kenzie Thomas (2-3, SB) also had multi-hit games for the Warhawks.
Junior P Kylie Otto continued her hot streak in the circle, earning the win while throwing her 8th complete game of the season to move to 8-4. She gave up 2 ER on 4 hits and 2 walks, striking out 5.
May 16: West Bend West 8, Germantown 0
Germantown managed only 5 hits, with Julia Sina (2-3) having the lone multi-hit game.
