The record stood for 44 years! Also, congratulations to Piper on winning the most votes in last week's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Athlete of the Week poll! Piper had 2,591 of 5,950 total votes cast. Come One, Come All! The GHS Dramatic Impact group presents their spring musical "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" Based on the 1996 Disney film and 1831 novel, 

The Hunchback of Notre Dame tells the story of Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bell-ringer of Notre Dame, and his desire to one day be a part of the outside world.

Congratulations to the powerlifting team that competed in Powerlifting America's High School Nationals this past weekend. The team did extremely well and brought home 6 different team awards which included; Second Place Male JV Raw, Second Place Combined JV Raw, Second Place Girls JV Equipped, Third Place Girls Varsity Equipped, Second Place Boys Varsity Equipped, and First Place Combined Varsity Equipped!  This was the team's third straight National Championship trophy as well! GTown Power was led by JV National Champions Grace Gereau, Jayden Hoang, Brandon Lesnik, and Varsity National Champions MacKenzie Wells, and Ariyo Sanyaolu. Good luck to all top 5 varsity lifters as they wait to find out if they will represent Team USA at upcoming international events.

ForensicsLast Friday, the Germantown Forensics Team competed at the state meet for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech and Dramatic Arts Association.

ForensicsSoftballThe softball team went 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the GMC last week.  They are currently 7-1 and tied for first place in conference and 9-2 overall.  Their next game is Friday, April 26 at home against DSHA. 

Friday, April 19: Menomonee Falls 23, Germantown 6

Junior SS Kayla Preiss (2-4, 3B, 2 RBI, R) and sophomore 3B Addy Johnson (2-3, R) had multi-hit games for the Warhawks, as they were thumped in the border-battle for first place in the GMC.

Saturday, April 20: Germantown 5, Jefferson 3

The Warhawks defeated the #4 ranked team in the state in D2 in game 1 of the 4-team tourney at Kenosha Bradford.

Junior pitcher Kylie Otto pitched a complete game, working 7 innings and giving up 10 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.  Junior OF Emmy Coulter (3-4, 2 R, 2 SB) and Preiss (3-4, 2 RBI, R, SB) each had 3 hits to lead a 10-hit attack.

Saturday, April 20: Kenosha Bradford 12, Germantown 2

The Warhawks started strong against the #4 ranked team in the state in D1 by scoring 2 runs in the top of the first on a Maddy Balsiger (1-3, R) single, Preiss (1-3, 3B, RBI, R) triple and Bennett (2-3, RBI) ground out. Coulter (2-3) also had a multi-hit game for the Warhawks.

Tuesday, April 23: Germantown 4, Brookfield East 2

The Warhawks opened the scoring with 2 in the bottom of the 1st on a sacrifice fly by junior 3B Julia Sina (1-2, RBI, SF) and 2-out RBI single by Bennett (1-3, RBI).

After Brookfield East tied the game without the benefit of a hit in the 2nd, Germantown took the lead for good in the 4th on a 2-out 2-run double by Balsiger (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, R, IBB).  Kenzie Thomas (2-3) also had a multi-hit game for the Warhawks.

Otto was brilliant in the circle, pitching 7 innings and giving up only 2 hits and no walks with 7 strikeouts.  She raised her record to 4-1, pitching her 3rd complete game of the season.

Thursday, April 25: Germantown 19, Wauwatosa West 0 (game 1), Germantown 19, Wauwatosa West 0 (game 2)

Senior pitcher Kendal Thomas got the win in game 1, pitching 3 shutout innings, allowing only 1 hit, and striking out 4.

Sophomore pitcher Alaina Williams threw a complete-game shutout in game 2, notching her first varsity win.  She pitched 5 innings, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 7.

On the day, offensive leaders for the Warhawks included:

Preiss - 5-6 with 2 3B, 3 BB, 7 RBI and 4 runs scored

Balsiger - 4-4 with 2B, 5 BB, 3 RBI, 7 runs scored and 5 SB

Johnson - 3-3 with HR, 4 RBI.  Her HR was inside-the-park in game 1 and was her first varsity HR.

Sina - 3-4 with 2B, 3B, and 5 runs

Bennett - 2-3 with 2 2B, and 5 RBI

Williams - 2-3 with 2 RBI

Senior OF Madison Preiss - 2-4 with 2B 2 RBI and 2 runs scored

Youth Night

TennisThe boys’ tennis team is off to a great start this year. The varsity team went 2-2 in the first meet of the season, taking 4th place at the Mukwanago invite. Then they went 3-2 in the highly competitive 32-team Steinbach classic, with the 2 losses coming down to the last match on the court. The doubles teams of Cole Neinas/Will Wagner, Adam Emerson/James Goetter, and Brett Haensgen/Cooper Meinecke went undefeated on the weekend! The varsity team also had strong wins over Cedarburg, Port Washington, and Tosa East. The JV has had great matches against Whitefish Bay, Tosa East and Hamilton. They are improving every day! Varsity competes in the Washington County invite this weekend and JV competes in a Marquette Invite.  Good luck!

SoccerThe Germantown Girls' Varsity Soccer team finished off last week with a strong 4-2 victory against Menomonee Falls who is ranked 5th in Division 1 Girls soccer and 8th ranked in the state of Wisconsin. Winning this game, brought the Battle of the Border trophy back home to Germantown!

Goals were scored by Maya Staples and assisted by Jaycee Mani, Ella Rogowski, Gabbie Hetzel, and closed out the scoring with a head ball goal from Mary Leininger and assisted by Ellery Frieburger. This put the team's season record to 5-1-2.

Varsity travels this weekend to Depere High School to participate in the Matthew Goomey Invitational and they will take on Oshkosh West and Kimberly High School, ranked 4th in Division 1. 

JV was able to come out with a hard fought 2-1 win against Menomonee Falls to push their record in the season to 6-0. It was great to watch them celebrate after they scored the go ahead goal with less than 2 minutes to go in the game. Keep it rolling girls!!

JV2 played two games this week and are truly starting to come together as a team. On Monday, they took on Shorewood and came out with a 3-0 win. They then got another chance to play on Wednesday and came out with a 5-0 win against DSHA!! That is a solid week with 8 goals scored and 2 shutouts. Great work girls!!

Varsity will continue next week at home against West Allis Hale. It is Senior Night and the team would love to have you all come out to help celebrate these athletes and the team!
