The Germantown Boys' Basketball State Championship Game Teams and Coaches in 2012, 2013, 2014 and Runner-up in 2015 were honored on Friday, December 22, 2023 in the GHS Fieldhouse.

The MSG (Menomonee Falls/Sussex/Germantown) Ski Team is finally back on the slopes! On Wednesday (01/03), MSG took on Badger, Nicolet, Oconomowoc, and Brookfield East ski teams.

Varsity Girls: Paige MacIntyre brought home 3rd place and Allie Wink took 15th out of 30 racers.
Varsity Boys: Grayson Butzke took 7th place and Jackson Butzke took 8th place out of 30 racers.

The Germantown Boys' Basketball Team continued their winning ways on Friday, January 22nd vs Brookfield Central 73-71 to stay in first place and undefeated in the Greater Metro Conference. Peyton McKenna tied a school record with EIGHT 3 point baskets on his way to 27 points total. Mason Freiburger had 13 points, Ryan Ferguson had 13, and Cahlil Jones added 10 points and 8 rebounds. The Warhawks are now ranked in Division 1 coming in at #8 according to the WSN Coaches Poll. Come out and support the guys tonight at Hamilton at 7 p.m.!
On the Friday before break, the Germantown Girls' Basketball Team raced out to a 21 point halftime lead and defeated Brookfield Central 71-58. Danica Gosz scored the first 12 points of the game for the Warhawks on her way to a game high 22. Jaycee Mani and Lucy Leininger also hit double digits with 10 points each, while Madeline Jakusz snagged 13 rebounds.
Over the Christmas break the girls played two games at the Watertown Shootout. They led at halftime against Waupun (#1 ranked team in Division 3), but couldn't maintain the lead in dropping a 80-68 decision. Jaycee Mani led the way with 23 points, while Lucy Leininger (18 points) and Danica Gosz (16 points) were next in scoring. Madeline Jakusz grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Warhawks rebounded the next day by overcoming a 13 point 2nd half deficit to beat a very good De Pere team 74-68. Lucy Leininger led the second half surge by scoring 16 of her game high 20 points in the 2nd frame. Madeline Jakusz had 13 points, while Danica Gosz chipped in 11 points.
After returning from break, the girls traveled to Franklin for another non-conference win. A great defensive effort led to a 63-43 defeat of the Sabers. A balanced offensive night saw six Warhawks score between 8-12 points. Lucy Leininger led the defensive charge by snagging 10 steals and blocking 5 shots, while Madeline Jakusz again cleaned up the boards with 12 rebounds.

Bears Hockey had no games over Christmas Break. Prior to Christmas Break the Bears played Xavier on December 23. The team ended up winning 8-0. Stone Daczka scored the first goal, which went on to be the game winning goal. He was assisted by Reid Newkirk. Preston Filter scored the next goal, with Stone Daczka scoring the third goal assisted by Reid Newkirk and Trevor Newkirk. Later in the game Reid Newkirk scored the 7th goal assisted by his brother Trevor Newkirk.
On December 16th the team held their annual military game against Sheboygan. The team went on to win the game 3-2. The bigger win was raising $5,300. These funds were distributed as follows: $2,650 to U.S. Hockey Players Support our Troops and $2,650 to the West Bend VFW who distributes the funds to organizations throughout Washington County. Over the Holiday Break the Girls' Varsity & JV Lakeshore Lightning Hockey Teams competed in the Culver Cup in Madison, WI. Varsity posted a 1-1-1 record while JV posted a 0-2-1 record. To ring in the New Year, on January 2nd Varsity hosted an Eastern Shores Conference matchup against University School of Milwaukee winning 5-3 which now improves their regular season record to 7-5-2 and 2-1-1 in Conference play. Varsity returns to action today in another Eastern Shores Conference game against Wisconsin Valley Union at 1PM at UW Panther Arena and a non conference game against the Coulee Region Cyclones on Saturday at 3:30PM at Uihlein Ice Arena in River Hills. The Germantown Boys' Swim Team competed against Waukesha West/Mukwonago last night. The Varsity fought hard, but came up a little short losing 78-60, while the JV team won big 90-21.

Over the break, the Warhawk Wrestlers competed in the 71 team Oshkosh on the Water tournament. The team took 12th place with every wrestler scoring team points. There were 5 Warhawks that placed. Eli Rabideau took 2nd, Owen Becker 4th, Jake Momper 6th, Nathan Stiebs 8th and Ryan Michalski 11th. Next competition for the wrestlers is 1/11 as they travel to Sussex. Good luck!
