Ben Averkamp (2009 graduate) will be inducted into the GHS Athletic Wall (Hall) of Fame to start the Friday, December 22 boys’ basketball game against Brookfield Central!  Come on out to support Ben at this game!



Also, the Germantown Boys’ Basketball State Championship Game teams will be honored on Friday, December 22, 2023 in the GHS Fieldhouse. State Champs in 2012, 2013, 2014 and Runner Up in 2015 players will be honored.  (There were 36 different players that were members of one, two or three of those four teams).


All of those players, coaches and their families are cordially invited to attend.  These players and coaches will be introduced at halftime of 7:00pm varsity game vs. Brookfield Central.


Congratulations to one of Germantown’s own for her dedication and service to Germantown High School Athletics.  Each year, Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) member schools can select one recipient in their communities to receive this award and longtime event worker, community supporter and friend in Melissa Timmerman is this year’s recipient.  Melissa, thank you for making a difference and congratulations on being selected as this year's WIAA Service Award recipient for Germantown!

The Germantown Boys' Basketball team opened up their 2023-2024 season with a come from behind victory 65-54 over Racine St. Catherine's at home on Thursday night! The Warhawks had 4 players in double figures.  Cahlil Jones had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.  Peyton Mckenna had 12 points and 6 rebounds and Carter Privatt scored 10 points with 2 steals.  Mason Freiburger added a double double with 10 points and incredible 20 rebounds!  AJ Willard was amazing defensively and played with such energy, effort, and intensity that was a big part in why the Warhawks claimed victory.    The boys stayed after the victory to sign team posters for fans and youth players in the Jr. Warhawk Program.  The Warhawks travel to Milwaukee South Division on Saturday at 1:15 pm to play Kettle Moraine.  Come out and support the guys at the Terry Porter Classic!


The Germantown Girls' Basketball Team finished their opening stretch of non-conference games with a 3-1 record and will now turn their attention to conference play starting on Tuesday at Menomonee Falls.


The Warhawks opened the season with a 78-61 win over Cedarburg in which all five starters scored in double figures. Cedarburg took a one point lead at halftime, but Germantown's relentless pressure led to a 43-25 2nd half to secure the win. Lucy Leininger led the way with 23 points, while Madeline Jakusz (14), Rachel Murphy (13), Danica Gosz (13) and Jaycee Mani (12) also hit double digits. Reese Berge did not attempt a shot during the game, but finished with 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists.


Germantown traveled to the Kettle Moraine Shootout over Thanksgiving weekend to take on a couple highly regarded teams that traveled to play in the event. On Friday, the Warhawks forced 45 Hudson turnovers on route to a 68-47 victory in a rematch of the 2021 state championship game. Lucy Leininger again had 23 points, while Danica Gosz (18) and Jaycee Mani (11) also hit double digits. Madeline Jakusz secured 11 rebounds in the win.


On Saturday, Germantown ran into a hot shooting Waunakee team that put in 11 3-pointers and defeated the Warhawks 77-62. Danica Gosz led the scoring for Germantown with 19 points, with Lucy Leininger (14) and Jaycee Mani (10) rounding out the top scorers.


The Warhawks got back on the winning path with an entertaining 95-84 win over Wisconsin Lutheran this past Tuesday. Lucy Leininger led the way with 26 points, while Danica Gosz (19), Jaycee Mani (18) and Madeline Jakusz (10) also got into double figures in the scoring column.

Good luck to the Ice Bears as they take on Kettle Moraine tonight at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center!  Varsity is at 6:30pm and JV at 8pm.


The Lakeshore Lightning have competed in 5 games so far this season posting a 4 and 1 record with a hard fought, 4-3 conference win over Arrowhead on Wednesday, November 29th bringing their Eastern Shores Conference record to 1-0. The team travels to Green Bay this weekend to face the defending State Champions, the Bay Area Ice Bears. The teams next home game is Thursday, December 7th vs. Beaver Dam at 6:45pm at Ozaukee Ice Center.


Good luck to the Boys' Swim Team as they head to Wauwatosa East tomorrow for the Conference Relay Meet!


The Warhawk wrestlers started their season off strong by winning their first 2 duals of the season. In the first dual the Warhawks beat Menomonee Falls 66-18 and in the second dual they defeated Tosa East/ West by a score of 72-12.  There were 11 guys who went 2-0 on the night and every victory was via pin fall. Guys who were 2-0 on the night were Kellen Becker, Kaden Uscola, Owen Becker, Jack Stecker, Ryan Lesnik, Aidan Brukbacher, Eli Rabideau, Noah Sakac, Jake Momper, Nathan Stiebs and Mateusz Pawela. The Warhawks travel to Waukesha South on Saturday to defend their title at the Blackshirt Duals. Good luck!
