The Germantown Varsity Baseball Team has won 5 of 6 games this week, including a 1-0 Senior Night victory against Milwaukee Reagan, with senior Jack Kolinski throwing a 4 hit shutout. Congratulations to seniors Cole Baier, Matt Grater, Alec Greenmier, Jack Kolinski, Landon Mani, Jake Olszewski, Alex Pluta, Ethan Sitter, Carter Szohr, and Brady Vincent.
The varsity completed its GMC season this week, finishing in a tie for 3rd place, and begins the postseason at home against Brookfield Central at 5:00 Tuesday. Good luck!

The Germantown Girls' Soccer Team wrapped up their regular season this week with games against DSHA and Slinger.
JV were defeated 3-0 at Mount Mary while the Varsity Warhawks were defeated 2-0 against DSHA who took home the conference title at Quad Park.
A tremendous save by the DSHA goalkeeper prevented Germantown from leveling things off at 1 later in the 2nd half. Divine Savior managed to put one more in before time expired to seal the match.
Thursday night Germantown traveled to Slinger to face the Owls and came away with an 8-0 victory to close off their campaign. Goals from Grater, Rogowski (2) Mani (2), Andree, Hetzel and Angers in a dominant performance!
The girls start playoffs at Home vs. Oshkosh West on Tuesday May 30th! Go Hawks!
The softball team was 1-2 for the week and 17-8 for the season. They capped the week with a Regional Championship and are moving on to Sectionals!
May 18: Hartford 11, Germantown 1
Germantown took a 1-0 lead in the 1st, as Emmy Coulter (1-3, 2B, R) led off the game with a double and was driven in on a Madison Werner (0-3, RBI, SB) ground out. However, the Warhawks just managed 3 more hits the rest of the way - singles by Taylor Wilson (1-2) and Josie Smith (1-1) and a double by Kate Partridge (1-1, 2B).
May 23: Oak Creek 7, Germantown 2
Germantown jumped out to another 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st. Maddy Balsiger (1-2, 2 R, 2 SB) singled with 1 out, and after stealing 2nd was driven home on a 2 out double by Kayla Preiss (2-3, 2B, RBI). After falling behind 2-1 in the bottom of the 2nd, the Warhawks tied the game in the top of the 3rd. Balsiger walked with 2 outs, again stole 2nd and was driven in this time by Madison Werner (1-3, RBI). Emmy Coulter (1-3) had the only other hit for Germantown.
Sarah Nasif started in the circle and went 4 innings, giving up 3 ER. Kendal Thomas (1.1 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 H) and Alaina Williams (.2 IP, 0 ER, BB) covered the final 2 innings.
May 25: Germantown 11, Nicolet 2
The Warhawks scored in every inning versus the Knights. Madison Werner (2-3, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI) led the way on offense and crushed her 7th home run of the season - tying her for the team lead with Maddy Balsiger. Emmy Coulter (2-3, 3 R, BB, 2 SB) and Balsiger (2-3, 3 R, BB) also had multi-hit games.
Four different pitchers stepped inside the circle for Germantown, with Sarah Nasif (3.2 IP, 0 R, H, BB, 5 K) entering in relief in the 3rd inning to earn the win, and Kendal Thomas closed the game out with a clean inning, striking out 1.
The Warhawks travel to Cedarburg on Tuesday to face the Bulldogs in the Sectional Semifinal. Good luck!
The Germantown Boys' Tennis Team had their Subsectional tournament on Tuesday and had 2 doubles teams advance to the Sectional tournament on Thursday. In their first round match at #1 doubles, Conner Pallan and Cole Neinas had a HUGE upset of one of the top teams in the state from Marquette and punched their ticket to the state tournament next weekend! They ended up placing 4th in the section. The team of Casey and Adam Emerson won their first match and then lost to a tough Marquette team in the finals of the #2 doubles position.
Also competing at the Subsectional tournament and having terrific seasons were Reid Newkirk, Trevor Newkirk, Sam Schilder, Braeden Sinden, Will Wagner and James Goetter.
On Monday, May 22nd the boys and girls varsity track and field teams competed in the regional meet at Watertown. Athletes placing in the top four progressed to the sectional meet.
Sectional qualifiers on the girls side included the 4x800m relay team consisting of Lizzy Liker, Erin Fredrickson, Samyiah Fox, Kate Ittner, Keira Lorbecki and Ella Armstrong, Rylie Olson in the 100m dash, the 4x200m relay team consisting of Macie Daniel, Grace Weyda, Rylie Olson, Addison Braidigan, Addie Bushkie and Audrey Schroeder, the 4x100m relay team consisting of Macie Daniel, Addie Bushkie, Rylie Olson, Addison Braidigan, Blyss McCune and Miranda Leffler, Grace Weyda in the 300m hurdles, Addison Braidigan in the 200m dash, Kate Ittner in the 3200m run, Madeline Jakusz in shot put and Piper Eby in the discus throw.
Sectional qualifiers on the boys side included Dillon Walker in both the 1600m and 3200m runs, the 4x200m relay team consisting of Vance Burnham, Jonas Price, Will Van Fossen, JV Myles, Joey Knopp and Michael Otchere, Jasyon Koel, Joey Knopp and Michael Lenius in the 400m dash, Jonas Price in the 300m hurdles, Jack Wanezek in the 800m run, Jayson Koel and Vance Burnham in the 200m dash, the 4x400m relay team consisting of Joey Knopp, Jonas Price, Bennett Krause, AJ Willard, Jayson Koel and Will Van Vossen, JV Myles in triple jump and Joshua Brunner in pole vault.
Those athletes went on to compete Thursday, May 25th in the sectional meet at West Bend East. Athletes placing in the top three qualified for the state meet in LaCrosse which will take place on June 2nd and 3rd.

Congratulations to the boys on breaking several school records at the sectional meet as well. JV Myles broke his own school record of 47 feet, 10.5 inches set during this year’s Conference meet in the triple jump, jumping 48 feet, 2.25 inches. Vance Burnham, Jonas Price, Will Van Fossen and JV Myles broke the previous 4x200m relay school record of 1:29.09 from 2011, running 1:28.33, and Dillon Walker broke the previous 1600m run school record of 4:22.89 from 2019, running 4:22.51.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD:
What an amazing finish to the 2023 Track and Field season for the KMS team! The conference track team traveled to Cedarburg last Thursday to compete in the Braveland Conference Championships and earned two top three finishes with the girls' team taking second overall and the boys' team finishing in third. Two top three finishes is a great team accomplishment!
It was a record breaking evening for KMS as Carter Gordon claimed a conference championship and smashed the school shot put record with a toss of 49'1". Kierta Siegert, conference champ in discus wrote her name in the KMS record books with a throw of 95' 3". All three girls' relay teams earned conference championships and set new school records...the 400m relay team of Lydia Taraboi, Maya Staples, Vonna Shill and Kaliyah Terrell finishing with a time of :53.47 seconds; The mile relay team of Lydia Taraboi, Kierta Siegert, Leilah Pritchard and Maggie Otte rewrote the record books with a time of 4:24.47 ; and finally the 800m relay team of Maggie Otte, Morgan Johnson, Vonna Shill and Kaliyah Terrell not only shattered the KMS record but also the Braveland Conference Championship record running in a time of 1:54.53. And to cap off the amazing performances, Lydia Taraboi set a new school record finishing second overall in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.56.
