At the June 27 Germantown Board of Education meeting, Mr. David Smith, current Germantown High School Dean of Students/Academic and Career Planning Coordinator, was approved to become Assistant Principal for Germantown High School for the 2022–23 school year. For more than four months, Mr. Smith has been serving as GHS’s Dean of Students and developing the Academic and Career Planning program. Mr. Smith previously taught English at Brookfield East High School and in the Launch Program in the Elmbrook School District. Mr. Joel Farren, GHS Principal, shared a few words about David:
“We are very pleased to have Mr. Smith’s talents on our administrative team at GHS in this new role. He made a move from the classroom to become our Dean of Students/Academic and Career Planning Coordinator in the spring of 2022, and he has exceeded expectations in a very short period of time, particularly as a new administrator. With his knowledge base, communication skills, ability to quickly establish relationships, and enthusiasm, we look forward to working with him in his new position of Assistant Principal at Germantown High School!”
Mr. Smith shared a few words about his role in the Germantown School District community:
“I’ve loved being a part of the Germantown School District and am excited to continue as Assistant Principal at Germantown High School. We have incredible students and staff, a passionate community, and outstanding leadership at both the school and district level. I feel fortunate to be a part of the Germantown family and look forward to continuing my time in the district in this new role.”
Mr. Smith will assume the role of Germantown High School Assistant Principal on July 1. In the coming month, Mr. Farren and his team will work to fill David’s vacated role. Germantown High School and the school district are excited to see Mr. Smith lead in his new role and inspire every GHS student to succeed.
