May 2013
Dear Germantown Community Members,
We are pleased to share the excellent news of this month related to our WKCE scores and being named as one of the top schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
Our link to WKCE results is just to the right of this letter under press releases. You will see that our district results place us in the top seven of the area districts. As a reminder, we are now utilizing a different scale, so the results are not reported in the very typical 90-80-70-60 scale that we all came to know as students. We continue to be thankful that we are in a highly competitive area with not only the best schools in Wisconsin, but in the nation.
As evidence of that, please follow this link (http://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/wisconsin) to the results for Wisconsin schools in U.S. News and World Report. Germantown High School was rated #6 in Wisconsin and awarded a national silver medal. Being honored through inclusion in this list places GHS in the top 5% of schools across the nation as #850 of more than 21,000 high schools nationally. Thank you to our dedicated, professional staff for all their hard work!
Wisconsin is raising the bar for all schools and Germantown is a frontrunner. These results are the combination of strong community support, leadership and high performing staff working collaboratively for students. Our district will continue to develop our professional learning community, develop our literacy instruction and enhance the opportunities for career and college readiness.
We realize that information like learning about our professional development, our place in the market or financial standing is valuable to you as you make decisions and we anticipate that you will continue to be informed stakeholders. We are transparent, and you have access to a great deal of information, viewing the same information our Board of Education uses within this website. There is a link just to the left of this letter (Board of Education) where that information can be found. We hope you will also visit the school web pages and enjoy getting to know us.
As we serve approximately 4,000 students each day, we recognize that our role is pivotal to the quality of life we all enjoy. We also recognize that our role is successful through the collaborative efforts of our families, our community, dedicated and skilled school staff, effective leadership and the work of the Board of Education. Together, we make a tremendous difference.
Thank you for all that you do to support the education of our students.
Go Warhawks!
